Deepak PANT (Male, 43 years) leads the research linked to (bio)/electrochemical systems and the gas diffusion electrodes at VITO which is linked to electrochemical and biological conversion systems with a focus on CO2 conversion and their combination with separation systems. He has co-authored 177 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 38 book chapters, 6 patents and has edited Five books- ‘Life Cycle Assessment of Renewable Energy Sources' (Springer), ‘Microbial Electrochemical Technologies’ (CRC Press), Sustainable Bioresources for the Emerging Bioeconomy (Elsevier), Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology Volume 1 & 2 (Springer), Emerging Technologies and Biological Systems for Biogas Upgrading (Elsevier). He was the recipient of the 1st Prize at the ClimateLaunchPad 2015 National finals, Belgium; 1st Prize Winner in the Energy and Environment Research, Category at the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2014, Young scientist award of International Bioprocessing Association 2019 and several travel grants. He is a member of several scientific communities including ISMET, ISE, BES, BRSI, IFIBiop and AMI. He is the Editor of the Elsevier journal Bioresource Technology Reports and serves as Editorial board member for the Journals: Bioresource Technology, ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, Electronic Journal of Biotechnology, Biofuel Research Journal, Heliyon, Sustainability, Molecules and Scientific Reports. He also contributes to scientific reviewing activities (>220 SCI Journals) and reviews proposals for European Commission (Horizon 2020 & Horizon Europe) and national funding programs of Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Germany and India. Current h-index is 69 (>14000 citations on Google Scholar).
