Dr. ir. Diederik Rousseau is a full-time associate professor at the Department of Green Chemistry and Technology of Ghent University where he co-directs the Laboratory for Industrial Water and Eco Technology (LIWET). He focuses on nature-based solutions such as constructed wetlands for the sustainable recovery of water and nutrients. His research concerns optimal design and operation, intensification, and possibilities to incorporate constructed wetlands in water reuse schemes. LIWET has an outstanding experience in national and international applied research, with demonstrations of interesting concepts at pilot or full scale.
